Group Work in an online classroom

Hello! 

I am working on revising some of my online Biology assignments. My goal is to add more collaboration and group work to the class. Does anyone have a successful group work assignment (not necessarily a large project) that you can share? I am looking for format and delivery ideas more than content right now.
