OpenNCCC Governance Policy
Steering Committee
Mission:
The mission of the openNCCC Steering Committee is to ensure a high-quality and useful repository of OER for the NCCCS. To that end it establishes and enforces quality standards, approves the accessioning of resources, and encourages the development of new OER materials. This Committee also advocates for the use of OER materials across the NCCCS.
Definition:
Open educational resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research materials in any medium—digital or otherwise—that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation, and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions (Hewlett Foundation, 2018).
Membership:
This Steering Committee will be composed of System Office and college representatives. Leadership of this Committee will be shared by faculty and administration.
