HI everyone,

Wanted to see how other colleges approach training for New instructors that have no experirence with OpenLMS.

Look forward to your feedback.

We pair new instructors up with a seasoned mentor instructor (preferably in their subject area).  We have some trainng courses available from Open LMS and a course with short how to videos often more local in scope (turinging in grades...).

We have an Instructor Moodle Orientation course that they must complete before starting to teach online. We also have an advanced course. Both are self-paced. Additionally, we have a supplementary instructor resources site that has our training videos and handouts on it. It isn't ideal, but we have a lot of last minute hires (particularly adjuncts who do not live in the area). Our VP is pushing to require all new faculty to have an orientation session with DL prior to starting.
