Analytic Techniques for Public Management and Policy was written with the hope where the techniques can be used effectively to be evidence-based research and that it might encourage public management and policy researchers to inform more effective governance. This e-book is based on ordinary least squares (OLS) regression and is informed by four resources: Dr. Russell G. Almond’s statistics classes, Dr. Salih Binici’s measurement classes, Dr. Tom Cook’s quasi-experimental design workshop, and Dr. Kyoung-jun Lee’s DSS class. This book was developed by one section of the University of Baltimore spring 2020 Composition and Research (WRIT 300) course for Merrick School of Business (MSB) students. This book is designed to take business students beyond the standard requirements for the class. In addition to exploring rhetorical analysis of discourse community genres, the students developed essays to guide future learners through the development of specific genres used in business-related discourse communities. The hard work and enduring patience of the spring 2020 students has culminated in this publication, "Been There, Done That: The Business Student’s Guide to Rhetorical Analysis & Discourse Communities." The book includes guidance for future WRIT 300 MSB students a guide to success – from a college student’s point of view.

This guide outlines how to conduct an online oral history project with an institutional focus in a classroom. Conducting an oral history project enables students to engage in a real history research project that improves their research, writing, communication, and listening comprehension skills and abilities. The students will be able to better understand the past and recognize that examining the past events is not always straightforward, and each story provides an intimate portrait of the past that is unlikely to be revealed otherwise. This guide can be used in a public history course as a final term project to be completed over the course of the semester.

Using the free software Supercollider, you can create create music using computer coding. This text and lesson provide instructional videos, downloadable files, and step by step instructions for coding in the unique language. SuperCollider is a platform for audio synthesis and algorithmic composition, used by musicians, artists, and researchers working with sound. It is free and open source software available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

A living book designed to be revised, Strategic Information Literacy will remain relevant to casual and critical information consumers and creators so long as it applies to how they interact with information. The authors invite revision and redistribution of the book’s content to meet the information literacy needs of its readers.
