OER Project Workflow

by Angela Davis 2 years, 11 months ago

I have created a draft of an OER Project Workflow [Google Draw] that I have adapted from what Abbey Elder provides in her OER Starter Kit for use by faculty here at Pitt CC.

I believe that you should be able to add comments to the document if you'd like to do so. I feel like this might be too complicated, but I'm not exactly sure what should be eliminated.

Any suggestions? Do you have something similar that you use with your faculty?

Hi Angela - I think this looks great! I think the various stages are well-defined and a faculty member should easily be able to determine where they fall on this continuum. I know that 4-years with instiutional repositories can use those for faculty publishing, but we're more limited. I think encouraging faculty to share their work with openNCCC is a great idea. Our archives just recently purchased ContentDM, so that may be an option for our faculty moving forward who want to store their work locally.

SPARC fellow Ariana Santiago used a similar workflow for OER adoption: https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1cZQHpGpQyrr46Vm5IytOEMYQj-s1zr0P-M-LJ16Rtto/edit

She did an evaluation of several other OER workflows that I thought was interesting: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mcg8W533uRvFDuVv6-OYDtucDYYJrDrP4H87fAVDXnA/edit

I don't know if it's worth having a workflow for every stage (Research, Adoption, Remixing, Creation, etc.) or if that would make it too intimidating to faculty?

Julie,

Thank you so much for sharing this! I am going through it all and I think that what I have is way too complicated for our purposes here at Pitt. I love the plans that are simple and clear.
