SPARC Open Leadership Program

Hi Angela and everyone,
Yes, I was a SPARC fellow and it was a great experience! I will say that the program is pretty heavily focused on 4-year colleges and universities, despite OER guru Regina Gong being on their board ( although she's not at a community college any longer herself). They're trying to accept and incorporate applicants from more than 4-year schools, though. Their curriculum is available and online, but I'm happy to share with you everything I did for the program. I would say the best part is probably making connections with other librarians across the country, hearing about their OER work, and getting advice and encouragement from them. The guest facilitators (like Abby Elder) were great as well and there is a mentorship component that I also really liked. My mentor was Jeanne Hoover from ECU.
